The Prop Master's Dream - A Fusion Cantonese Opera
Cantonese opera (粵劇) is one of the major categories in Chinese opera, originating in southern China’s Guangdong Province. It is a traditional Chinese art form, involving music, singing, martial arts, acrobatics, and acting. The Vancouver Cantonese Opera is a non-profit society incorporated on June 30th, 2000. Our mission is to preserve and promote Cantonese opera in Canada. We endeavor to present the unique traditional art form of Cantonese opera at the highest level to both Chinese and non-Chinese audiences. We also strive to collaborate with our stakeholders to meet the fundamental need for spiritual and aesthetic satisfaction and richness in our lives.
