Following immigrating to Vancouver from England in 2007, Heidi was employed as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Midwifery, Department of Family Medicine at the University of British Columbia, as well as a Registered midwife in Birth and Beyond , a Faculty Midwifery Practice. She retired in 2013, and has taken part in various voluntary works in an elderly care home and local parish church. She became a member of Vancouver Cantonese Opera in 2012 when she joined their singing class. Since then, she has participated in a number of live events as Master of Ceremony; translator of opera scripts etc. During the pandemic, she has participated in doing zoom presentation; making subtitles and script writing.
is a non-profit and charitable society with a mission to preserve and promote Cantonese opera in Canada.
